В ведение службы входят такие охраняемые области, как центр управления, контрольно-пропускные пункты, помещения для задержанных/проведения допросов. Также данная служба гарантирует полную безопасность спортсменам, официальным и должностным лицам высокого ранга, представителям СМИ, персоналу ОКОИ/волонтерам, маркетинг-партнерам и зрителям. ОКОИ может учредить функциональное подразделение, осуществляющее все
аспекты безопасности.

security service
Security area works with the national government, which is responsible for the management of all aspects of security for the Games, including protection, safety and disaster response. Security also manages the support areas used by security staff, such as the command centre, access control and holding/interview room, to provide a safe environment for athletes, officials, VIPs, media, OCOG staff/volunteers, marketing partners and spectators. The OCOG may establish a functional area dealing with security aspects.
